Breast Lift
A rounder and firmer breast is a symbol of youth. Breast Lift procedure, also known as Mastopexy, is a procedure to reshape and raise the breasts to give them a more proportional and appealing appearance. As you get older, your breasts tend to lose their elasticity and firmness. Some of the factors that may accentuate this process include:
✅ Pregnancy; breast skin and areolas have stretched ✅ Rapid weight loss/gain ✅ Aging ✅ Physical exercises without proper sport attire (sports bra) ✅ Genetics
Do you experience these issues?
✅ Your breasts appear droopy and elongated due to pregnancy and breastfeeding. ✅ You feel that your breasts have lost their shape due to weight loss and you desire rounder breasts. ✅ You have asymmetrical breasts that appear disproportionate and unattractive.
Solution
At H-II clinic, breast lift can be performed through a few procedures depending on the size and shape of your breasts, and how much lift you need. It is also advisable to stop smoking about 4 weeks before the procedure and to stop taking certain medications.
This surgery will take about 2 to 3 hours. Our experienced and board-certified surgeon will preserve the sensation and breast ductal tissue, so the ability to breastfeed should remain intact. In general, these are the steps performed during the surgical procedure;
1. While standing, your body will be marked by the surgeon to determine the new lifted nipple position on your breast. 2. This surgical procedure is commonly performed under general anesthesia. 3. There are three common areas for the incision;
- Around the areola.
- Extending downward from the areolae to the breast creases.
- Horizontally along the breast creases.
4. The surgeon will lift and reshape your breast to improve breast contour and firmness. 5. The nipple and areola will be repositioned to a more natural and youthful height. 6. Any excess skin is removed so the breast will appear firmer. 7. The remaining skin is tightened and closed with stitches, sutures, skin adhesives, or surgical tape.
Recovery
After the breast lift procedure, your breasts will be covered with gauze and surgical support bra. Your breasts may be swollen and sore for a few weeks after the procedure and this is completely normal following a surgical procedure. You will be supplied with medication to relieve the discomfort. To allow for optimal recovery, it is advisable to sleep on your back propped up by pillows to keep your chest area raised. Avoid heavy lifting and strenuous exercise for two to four weeks after your surgery.
