Skin Growth & Lesions

Skin Growth & Lesions

A skin growth or lesion can be defined as a part of the skin that has the appearance of an abnormal growth compared to the skin around it. They can appear anywhere on the face, neck, hands and other parts of the body. Some of the more common types of skin growth and lesions include:

Oil Seeds (Milia)

Taking on the appearance of white or yellowish bumps that are formed just under the skin, oil seeds are prone to form when dead skin accumulates and sebum gets trapped in the pores.

Moles

A common type of skin growth, moles develop as a result of pigmented cell clusters and often appear as small, dark brown or black spots on the skin.

Warts

Appearing as small and grainy skin growths, common warts occur most frequently on the fingers and hands. Often rough and flaky to the touch, these formations are generally harmless but the unsightly appearance may cause embarrassment to some.

Skin Tags

They are small and soft skin-coloured growths that connects to the skin surface by a stalk. Affecting those in the middle-age group, skin tags are considered common and appear on the areas where skin rubs against other skin or clothing.
